Memorial day Peony

Happy memorial day.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have had this peony for years, although I did almost kill it at one point! That was before I learned that the part of the root that looks like a potato, is NOT the part needed to start new plants! Oops! But I managed to save enough of it that now it’s back to looking great.

AND just like clockwork it is always blooming on Memorial day! I don’t think it has ever missed a year.

I spent Sunday planting annuals, digging out and replanting some perennials, potting up some extras and enjoying fragrance of the chokecherry bushes in bloom.
